National Police vows serious action against currency crimes
Jakarta, May 13 -- The Indonesia's National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) is committed to take firm action against all forms of currency-related crimes, ranging from the production and storage to the circulation of fake money.
Deputy Chief of Bareskrim Inspector General Nunung Syaifuddin said his unit successfully uncover counterfeit cases during the period of 2025-2026 reached a total of 1,241 suspects form 252 police reports.
"Throughout 2025 until April 2026, the ratio of counterfeit cases continued to decline from four ppm (parts per million) in 2025 to one ppm in April 2026," Syaifuddin said during a press conference at the Indonesia's central bank headquarters here on Wednesday.
