Indonesia, June 12 -- Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, erupted five times on Friday, with ash plumes rising between 300 and 1,000 meters above the summit.

An officer at the Lewotobi Laki-laki Volcano Observation Post, Bramantya Aji Putra Mahendra, reported that five eruptions were recorded between 6 a.m. and noon, producing gray ash plumes rising 300-1,000 meters above the summit.

He said the volcano, which remains at Alert Level III, was clearly visible despite thin mist covering parts of the mountain. Thin white crater smoke was observed rising 50-100 meters above the summit.
