Jakarta, Aug. 14 -- Ahmad Muzani, Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia, said on Friday that the unity of Indonesia's people is a key to this country's success, supported by abundant wealth.

"Indonesia is a shared home worth fighting for," Muzani said in his opening address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

He said unity was essential for national progress, while divisions could deplete the nation's energy through mutual suspicion and efforts to undermine one another.
