Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Indonesian Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto has appointed Mojokerto District, East Java, to host activities commemorating 2027 National Village Day.

He noted in a statement on Tuesday that the designation reflected the government's recognition of the cultural wealth and tourism potential showcased by rural areas across the district.

"I believe that Mojokerto District truly is worthy of hosting 2027 National Village Day celebrations. Hence, I will ask the ministry's secretary-general to issue a decree designating Mojokerto as the host," Susanto said.
