Medan, Sept. 27 -- The Ministry of Health has called on referral hospitals across Indonesia to strengthen access to stroke treatment services.

Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono said stroke is the third leading cause of death worldwide each year.

He emphasized that referral hospitals should not only improve their services but also function as centers for learning, mentoring, and referral in their respective regions.

"Proctoring Bypass Cerebral Surgery is part of a program that underlines the role of hospitals not only as service providers," Dante said after virtually opening the Proctoring Bypass Cerebral Surgery program at Adam Malik Hospital from Jakarta on Saturday.
