Ministry prepares new policies for schools with low enrollment
Jakarta, July 19 -- The Primary and Secondary Education Ministry said it is formulating strategic policies in collaboration with regional governments to address schools with low student enrollment.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti said here on Sunday that low enrollment is influenced by various factors, including changes in the school-age population, mobility, the development of residential areas, public preferences, and differing geographical conditions across regions.
As the basis for the policy formulation, the ministry has collected data through the Basic Education Data System (Dapodik), especially on schools with fewer than 100 students, including those with fewer than 60 students.
