Jakarta, Aug. 21 -- The Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry called for the strengthening of regulations and supervision of daycare centers, in response to an alleged case of aggressive behaviour against a toddler at a daycare in Surabaya.
"This case serves as a reminder to strengthen regulations, standardization, and supervision of daycare centers to prevent similar incidents from recurring," the ministry's Acting Deputy for Special Protection for Children, Ratna Susianawati, said here on Thursday.
According to her, parents must feel safe when leaving their children, and the safety of the children must be guaranteed.
