Jakarta, Aug. 11 -- The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) are collaborating to accelerate financing access for small businesses across Indonesia.

"We have just signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) to speed things up," MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman told reporters after the MSME Finance Summit 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday.

As of August 2025, Indonesia was home to 56.68 million MSMEs, with micro-enterprises accounting for 96.8 percent, small businesses 1.7 percent, and medium enterprises 1.86 percent.

According to Abdurrahman, MSMEs contribute significantly to the national economy, lower poverty rates, create jobs, and boost export performance.
