Bandung, West Java, July 5 -- Culture Minister Fadli Zon has proposed upgrading the Indonesian Postal Museum in Bandung to national cultural heritage status, citing its more than century-old history and importance to Indonesia's cultural legacy.

"The Postal Museum deserves national cultural heritage status. This building is more than 100 years old and is an important part of the nation's history," he said in a statement on Saturday.

Fadli said the Dutch colonial-era building merits the designation because of its age and historical significance to Indonesia.
