Jakarta, Sept. 22 -- Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra has stressed that the One Data Indonesia Bill needs to provide legal certainty for the private sector, particularly regarding data utilization and cross-border data transfers.

"Because this is a new policy, the private sector certainly needs legal certainty," Mahendra said while receiving representatives of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) here on Tuesday.

According to Mahendra, businesses should be given an opportunity to provide input during deliberations on the One Data Indonesia Bill so that private-sector needs are also taken into account in the policymaking process.
