Jakarta, Sept. 24 -- Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, has called for strict supervision of the destruction of narcotics evidence to ensure that none of the material is left outside the incinerators.

"That is necessary to ensure the drugs are destroyed. They must not be left scattered," Djamari said at a press conference on drug-evidence destruction in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to the minister, destroying 1.3 metric tons of narcotic evidence in Batam, Riau Islands Province, took about 24 hours, requiring strict supervision throughout the process.
