Jakarta, Aug. 13 -- Indonesia's Environment Minister Moh Jumhur Hidayat has voiced support for strengthening the management ecosystem for medical and hazardous waste, emphasising a more transparent and sustainable approach to safeguard both the public and the environment.

In a statement received in Jakarta, Hidayat explained the effort relies on three key pillars: traceability, waste mass balance, and consistent law enforcement.

Speaking during a visit to a waste processing facility of PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI) in Bogor District, West Java, on Thursday, he noted the three pillars are necessary to ensure that every waste stream can be traced and accounted for.
