Jakarta, June 30 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs stated that tech giant Meta has deactivated around 185,000 accounts belonging to Indonesian children under the age of 16, over the past two months.

The move is part of the company's compliance with Indonesia's Government Regulation on Electronic System Governance for Child Protection (PP Tunas).

Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Oversight at the ministry, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that this is the latest data reported to the government by Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
