Jakarta, July 21 -- Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari stated that the giant liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the Abadi Basin, Masela Block, Maluku, is a strategic investment for Indonesia's future.

For the government, Qodari said the Masela Block project, marked by the groundbreaking ceremony last week, represents a concrete step to strengthen national energy security.

"Energy security is not only about having abundant natural resources. More importantly, it is about ensuring that the public and businesses have access to a reliable and sustainable energy supply capable of supporting long-term economic growth," Qodari stated, as quoted from Bakom's statement released on Tuesday.
