Jakarta, May 26 -- Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said a Malaysian woman seriously injured while hiking Mount Rinjani in West Nusa Tenggara had been evacuated to Bali for medical treatment after bad weather delayed the operation.

Basarnas Deputy for Operations Edy Prakoso said on Tuesday the victim was taken to hospital after rescuers completed an emergency medical evacuation by helicopter earlier in the morning.

"The victim, who fell while descending from the summit toward Pelawangan, was evacuated by helicopter to a hospital in Bali for intensive medical treatment," Edy said in Jakarta.
