Jakarta, Sept. 9 -- Manpower Minister Yassierli said data from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) plays a strategic role for the government in understanding labor market dynamics.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Yassierli said accurate data is needed to obtain a precise picture of labor conditions.

"This is a reality that data is a very expensive and highly valuable commodity," Yassierli said.

He said the use of Sakernas data covers four interrelated strategic functions. First, the data is used to monitor labor market conditions in an integrated manner through the SIAPkerja platform.

Second, the data is used to diagnose labor issues, including detecting skill mismatches between graduates' qualifications and industry needs. ...
