Indonesia, Oct. 15 -- The Kupang Salt Production Center introduced the salt production technique at the National Salt Industry Center (KSIGN) in Rote Ndao, East Nusa Tenggara, as a new milestone in Indonesia's salt industry.

"This salt production technique, which involves the continuous use of land, known as land extensification, is the first of its kind in Indonesia, and Rote Ndao is an ideal location for such a practice," the Head of the Kupang Salt Production Center, Muhamad Zaki Mahasin, informed on Thursday.

Mahasin explained that although the technique had previously been used in Indonesia, its application dated back to the colonial era in Madura rather than being implemented by the Indonesian government.
