Jakarta, Dec. 15 -- The General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection are collaborating to promote women's participation in politics.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KPU Chair Mochammad Afifuddin and Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Arifah Fauzi in Jakarta on Monday.

"The KPU wants to synergize with many parties, including the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, to encourage, firstly, an increase in women's participation in politics," Afifuddin remarked.
