Jakarta, April 24 -- The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has urged the local government to provide psychological assistance to the family of a child who died as a result of bullying in Sragen, Central Java.

"KPAI recommends that the regional technical implementation unit for the protection of women and children (UPTD PPA) provide psychological assistance to the victim's family. KPAI sees that the victim's mother and family need psychological support," KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini said when contacted here on Friday.

In addition, the region's social affairs office has also been requested to provide social assistance to the victim's family, in accordance with Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection.
