Jakarta, April 2 -- The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has issued 8,599 Human Rights Violation Victim Certificates (SKKPHAM) to victims or their families of past gross human rights violations.
Prabianto Mukti Wibowo, an official of Komnas HAM, explained in a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Thursday that the certificate is one of the requirements for applying for assistance for victims of gross human rights violations.
"The certificate serves as a database for restoring the rights of victims of gross human rights violations and is a requirement for submitting an application for assistance to the LPSK (Witness and Victim Protection Agency)," Wibowo said.
