Jakarta, April 28 -- At least six people were killed after a long-distance train telescoped into a commuter train at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday evening, rail operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) confirmed.
"Six Commuter Line passengers have been confirmed dead, while 80 others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment," KAI Vice President of Corporate Communications Anne Purba said in an official statement issued Tuesday morning.
According to KAI, all 240 passengers aboard the long-distance Argo Bromo Anggrek train survived the incident.
Purba assured that all victims of the collision are receiving comprehensive care.
