Jakarta, July 10 -- The fire that burned approximately 15 hectares at the Jatiwaringin Landfill in Tangerang, Banten, has been fully extinguished, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said.

The Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, on Friday said the success was a result of the diligent and collaborative efforts of the joint emergency response team, since the fire was first reported on June 30 until Thursday evening (July 9).

"The main area of the Jatiwaringin Landfill, covering approximately 15 hectares, affected by the fire, has reportedly been 100 percent extinguished and is currently in the intensive cooling phase," Muhari confirmed.
