Jakarta, April 22 -- Japanese tourists will soon be able to make inbound transactions in Indonesia using QR Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), according to Bank Indonesia (BI) deputy governor Filianingsih Hendarta.

She stated that BI has received permission from the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan to implement this inbound Indonesia practice.

"Permission has been granted by the FSA of Japan," Hendarta remarked at the "Launch of the Industry Consultative Paper: Classification Framework Approach as the Foundation for Regulating Digital Financial Assets in Indonesia" in Jakarta on Wednesday.
