Jakarta, Oct. 1 -- Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Masaki Yasushi expressed admiration for Indonesia's cultural richness during his nearly two-year tenure as ambassador.
Speaking at a media briefing at the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta on Tuesday, Masaki highlighted his impressions at the end of his assignment.
"I truly admire the richness and diversity of your culture, including the food," he said.
Throughout his service in Indonesia, Masaki traveled 15 times to various regions, including Sumatra, Java, Bali, Solo, Sulawesi, Makassar, and Papua.
He was particularly impressed by the country's natural beauty and cultural diversity, where people coexist peacefully despite differences in ethnicity, religion, and language.
