Jakarta, Oct. 2 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo confirmed his plan to relocate the statue of Indonesian national hero General Sudirman to accommodate an upcoming public transport system integration project in Dukuh Atas.

He emphasized that the 12-meter-tall statue would be moved to a more strategic location to show greater respect for the five-star general, who led Indonesia's independence war and served as the first commander of the nation's armed forces.

"The statue of Sudirman deserves our utmost respect, considering his title as a great general. Therefore, the statue will be placed in a notable spot following the development of Dukuh Atas," Pramono stated here on Thursday.
