Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- The Tourism Ministry is preparing concerts, cultural shows, fireworks and family activities for Pesta Rakyat on Aug. 17, marking Indonesia's 81st Independence Day across three Jakarta venues.

The ministry was quoted as saying on Instagram on Sunday that the event will feature musicians, cultural performances and evening entertainment designed to enliven the celebrations.

Entertainment stages will operate at Bundaran HI, the National Monument, or Monas, and Sarinah on Aug. 17, with events running from 7 a.m. to 11:10 p.m. local time.

Performers at Monas will include Dewa 19 featuring Ari Lasso and Mulan Jameela, NDX AKA and Wika Salim. Rizky Febian, Project Pop and Padi Reborn will perform at Sarinah.
