Jakarta, Aug. 9 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung assured the public here on Sunday that regional tax services will continue to operate normally after a major fire engulfed the upper floors of the Jakarta Revenue Agency (Bapenda) building.

The blaze broke out late Friday (August 7) at approximately 9:30 p.m. local time (GMT+7), ravaging the 11th through 16th floors of the building. Local authorities deployed 40 fire engines and 200 firefighters to contain the flames at the 30,417-square-meter facility.

Despite the extensive damage, Pramono emphasized that all administrative and revenue collection systems remain secure.
