Jakarta, Aug. 28 -- Indonesian police said public safety and order in Jakarta had returned to normal on Friday after mass demonstrations at the Parliament Complex the previous day.

National Police Public Information Bureau head Brig. Gen. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the national security situation remained stable and under control.

Police continued security operations to maintain public order and ensure daily activities were not disrupted by security-related incidents, Andiko said.

He said police would continue serving the public while working to preserve a safe and orderly environment across Jakarta.

Andiko added that public activities had resumed normally following Thursday's demonstrations.
