Jakarta, Oct. 30 -- Jakarta's National Zakat Agency (Baznas/Bazis) has prepared four emergency programs to assist residents affected by forest-fire smoke in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan.

"Baznas aims to restore public health and address needs arising from smoke exposure and the risk of acute respiratory infections (ARI)," the agency's chief, Akhmad H. Abu Bakar, told a news conference here Friday.

The four initiatives under the "Napas untuk Negeri" (Breathing for the Nation) campaign include an oxygen recovery center, home medical visits, family supply packages, and protective equipment for emergency workers.
