Jakarta, Aug. 21 -- Central Jakarta Police announced the deployment of 1,145 joint personnel to secure a student protest outside the House of Representatives (DPR) complex on Thursday.
"Please demonstrate peacefully, avoid provocation, and refrain from burning tires, blocking roads, or damaging public facilities," Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro said.
The joint personnel were assigned to monitor the rally near the parliament complex, Condro said in a statement ahead of the demonstration, which was expected to begin around 2 p.m. local time.
