Jakarta, Oct. 10 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government is moving forward with plans to significantly expand the Light Rail Transit (LRT) network.

Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo announced on Friday that new routes will connect Dukuh Atas to Pasar Baru, with further extensions planned for historical and northern areas.

"We will soon expand to Kota Tua, Glodok, and Pasar Baru. These will become new hubs, including Dukuh Atas," Governor Pramono stated.

He added that the development will also cover locations in North Jakarta, such as Tanjung Priok, Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), and Ancol, with the hope of eventually reaching Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2.
