Jakarta, Aug. 23 -- Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung is encouraging residents of the capital who are still seeking employment to consider becoming Indonesian migrant workers abroad, as part of efforts to reduce the province's unemployment rate.
"I strongly encourage residents to work overseas, and we are providing foreign language training to support this," he said in Jakarta on Saturday.
The governor emphasized the importance of learning languages such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Arabic to expand employment opportunities abroad. "We're pushing for this," he added.
In addition to language training, the Jakarta provincial government is also organizing job fairs, targeting a total of 21 events this year.
