Jakarta, Oct. 2 -- Jakarta is prepared to host a series of national and international sporting events this year, Governor Pramono Anung said on Thursday at a press conference for "Olympic Day 2025" at City Hall.

Anung said the growing number of sporting events had brought significant benefits to the capital. He cited the Jakarta International Golf Championship, currently under way at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), featuring global players such as Bubba Watson and Anthony Kim.

He added that any events unable to be held in other regions could be moved to Jakarta, instructing Youth and Sports Office Head Andri Yansyah to coordinate relocations.
