Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- Jakarta has returned to normal following recent demonstrations, with residents resuming their daily routines and public transport services back in operation, Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said on Tuesday.

The governor showcased this renewal of normalcy by attending the inauguration of a new building at University of Jakarta International (UNIJI) in West Jakarta.

"I want to show the public that Jakarta has returned to normal," Pramono told reporters at the event in Slipi.

The governor noted that since Monday (August 1), operators of public transport services had been instructed to resume operations, including mass rapid transit (MRT) and light rail transit (LRT) trains, Transjakarta buses, and Mikrotrans minivans.
