Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad revealed that eight Indonesian nationals were allegedly recruited into the Russian military after initially applying for security guard or administrative positions.

"They applied (for civilian jobs), but were eventually sent off to serve as soldiers. That is the information we have received," Ahmad stated here on Tuesday.

Ahmad noted that this information was obtained from intelligence authorities. According to the deputy speaker, the recruitment was facilitated by a third party from another country offering highly paid job opportunities.
