Indonesian youth urged to preserve cultural identity in MSME
Jakarta, Aug. 22 -- Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Thomas A.M. Djiwandono urged Indonesian young generation to preserve the nation's identity and cultural wealth in developing micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products.
This came even as young entrepreneurs continue to innovate and keep pace with technological developments.
"Keep preserving our identity. Innovation does not mean abandoning our roots. In fact, Indonesia's cultural wealth is our strength and what set us apart amid global competition," Djiwandono said at the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) 2026 event here on Saturday.
The culture-based products, such as traditional textiles and handicrafts, he added, derive their strength from its authenticity.
