Osaka, Jepang, Aug. 25 -- Indonesians visiting Osaka, Japan, can now use the Quick Response Indonesian Standard (QRIS), a digital payment system developed and implemented by Bank Indonesia.

QRIS is available at several tenants in the Indonesian Pavilion in Osaka after its official launch by Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo in Jakarta on Monday, which was broadcast live in Osaka.

"This is a historic moment. It marks a new chapter in closer cooperation between Indonesia and Japan through digital technology. Today, the QRIS cross-border system between Indonesia and Japan begins," Warjiyo said.
