Kudus, March 20 -- Indonesian Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti called on Muslims to conclude Ramadan by achieving self-purity during a sermon at the Eid al-Fitr prayer organized by the Islamic organization Muhammadiyah on Friday.
"After fasting in Ramadan, it is time for us to thoroughly purify ourselves in terms of intellectuality, spirituality, environment, and material," he remarked in his capacity as secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Board in Kudus District, Central Java.
Muhammadiyah has set March 20 as Day 1 of Shawwal 1447 Hijri, marking Eid al-Fitr in 2026, while the government officially declared the holy day to fall on March 21.
