Jakarta, March 4 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto remains ready to broker dialogue to resolve the recently erupted conflict in the Middle East, Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono said.

He stressed that mediation requires willingness and approval from the warring parties.

"If the warring parties seek mediation, Mr. President is ready to serve as mediator. If not, we will leave it up to them," Sugiono told the press at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday night, March 3.

He made the statement in response to Iran's apparent reluctance to engage the United States in further talks amid the conflict, which also involves Israel.
