Jakarta, Aug. 25 -- The Indonesian media need to meet the information needs of young people by providing quality news that is relevant to their lives, an official said.

"We must respond to the needs of these young people by providing quality and credible news," said Fifi Aleyda Yahya, Director General of Public Communication and Media, in Jakarta on Monday.

"As long as the news is based on facts and aligns with the hobbies and lifestyles of the younger generation, it can all be good news for today's Indonesian youth to consume," she said.

Fifi stated that today's younger generation accesses information more through digital platforms. They generally access information based on their interests and needs.
