Jakarta, July 7 -- Indonesia made the right diplomatic decision by planning to send Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Ahmad Muzani to the funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, a legislator said.

Syamsu Rizal, Commission I member of the House of Representatives (DPR), said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the planned attendance reflects Indonesia's high regard for its enduring ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"The presence of Indonesian representatives will demonstrate our nation's respect and empathy toward Iran for what befell it and strengthen bilateral relations," he remarked.
