Jakarta, Sept. 21 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry urged its citizens in Russia and Ukraine to increase vigilance amid an escalation in fighting between the two countries, the ministry said.

The Indonesian embassies in Kyiv and Moscow are monitoring security developments and the condition of Indonesian citizens amid increasingly frequent air strikes, said Heni Hamidah, director of citizen protection.

"The Indonesian embassies in Kyiv and Moscow urge all Indonesians in Ukraine and Russia to remain vigilant and avoid non-essential travel to areas experiencing attacks," Heni said in a written response to ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.
