Jakarta, June 29 -- The Indonesian government on Monday unveiled the official logo for the country's 81st Independence Day, selecting a design by West Sumatra graphic designer Fajar Novario after a nationwide public vote held on June 24-28.

Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro said the winning design was created by Fajar Novario, co-founder of Auman Design Bureau in Padang, West Sumatra.

"The public, through an open vote, selected logo number two, created by Fajar Novario of Auman Design Bureau, Padang, West Sumatra," Ardiantoro told a press conference.

Ardiantoro congratulated Novario, a visual communication design graduate of Padang State University, on winning the competition.
