Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- Deputy Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Christina Aryani said Indonesia aims to place 500,000 migrant workers by 2029 through its SMK Go Global vocational program.

The program is designed to connect vocational school graduates with overseas jobs by aligning their training and skills with industry needs and available positions.

Aryani said the program follows President Prabowo Subianto's directive to prepare 500,000 workers, including 300,000 vocational school graduates and 200,000 members of the general public.

The program targets placing 40,000 workers abroad in 2026, followed by 140,000 in 2027, 180,000 in 2028 and 140,000 in 2029.
