Indonesian govt offers free seeds for 870,000 hectares of plantations
Jakarta, July 31 -- Indonesia will provide free superior seeds for plantations covering 870,000 hectares nationwide, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said, as President Prabowo Subianto seeks to boost plantation productivity.
The program targets key commodities including coconut, sugarcane, cocoa, coffee, cashew, nutmeg and pepper, aligning with the president's agricultural priorities.
Speaking during an inspection of a 15-hectare state-run coconut nursery in Batang, Central Java, Amran said seed distribution will reflect local agro-climates and farming practices.
