Jakarta, Feb. 9 -- The Indonesian government said on Monday there is no proposal to place the National Police (Polri) under any ministry.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said public speculation over Polri's institutional position did not originate from the Police Reform Team.
"None," Prasetyo said when asked about the government's stance on the issue after attending the Military-Police Leadership Meeting in Jakarta.
He said President Prabowo Subianto continues to monitor the work of the Police Reform Team, which regularly reports its progress to the president, although not all of its processes are made public.
