Indonesian govt adds 6,000 schools to 2026 revitalization program
Denpasar, Bali, Oct. 2 -- Indonesia has added 6,000 schools to its 2026 revitalization program, raising the initial target of 71,744 schools, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti said.
"We've received a report that an additional 6,000 schools have been added so far, and that number could still go up," he said in Denpasar, Bali on Friday.
The increase would push the number of schools revitalized over 2025 and 2026 to more than 90,000, including 16,167 schools revitalized in 2025.
The ministry does not set a funding cap for each school, Mu'ti said, as allocations depend on the extent of damage and actual needs.
