Indonesian FM welcomes Turkish counterpart Fidan for official visit
Jakarta, June 3 -- Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Jakarta on Wednesday as the two countries sought closer cooperation in trade, defense, and regional security.
In a post on his social media account on Wednesday, Sugiono described Indonesia and Turkiye as nations bound by solidarity and longstanding cooperation.
"Indonesia highly appreciates Turkiye's steadfast support and solidarity in defending our shared principles," he said.
The post included photographs showing Sugiono welcoming Fidan upon arrival and shaking hands after the Turkish foreign minister disembarked from a government aircraft.
