Jakarta, Aug. 20 -- The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) has deployed a hospital ship carrying 70 tons of relief supplies, medical personnel, and heavy utility vehicles to aid earthquake-ravaged communities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak confirmed that the logistics vessel ADRI-XCII BM departed Wednesday from the Army Transportation Supply Center's Marine Forces Unit (Satangair) headquarters in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

"We sent five trucks and two ambulances to meet emergency operational needs there," Maruli said while observing the vessel's departure in Tanjung Priok.
