Jakarta, May 25 -- The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) conducted a joint exercise with the Pakistan Navy in the Java Sea last week to strengthen maritime security and military cooperation between the two friendly nations.

Head of the Indonesian Defence Forces Information Center Brigadier General Muhammad Nas stated that both navies deployed advanced defense assets during the exercise.

"TNI AL deployed KRI Bung Karno-369, KRI Wiratno-379, and the Panther HS-1311 helicopter, while the Pakistan Navy deployed PNS Taimur, PNS Aslat, and the submarine PNS Hangor," Nas said in a written statement received on Monday.

The Information Center stated that the joint exercise took place in the Java Sea near Jakarta on Friday, May 22.
